Message from Ian Stokes, Director of Campus Operations
Welcome to Western College, proudly located in the scenic Town of Stephenville; we are one of the largest independent career colleges in western Newfoundland.
Students will find our unique modular system of training, not only encourages
learning for the adult learner, but also enhances it. Students study one module at a
time, focusing on core subject material. We are very proud of our student-teacher
ratio; at Western College you are more than just a number!
Working closely with industry partners, the college has positioned itself to quickly
and efficiently meet industry demands. We are very proud of our training partnerships with the Canadian Payroll Association and Microsoft. As a Microsoft IT Academy, our students have access to all of the latest software with the largest IT Company in the world.
As our curriculum is recognized by the Canadian Payroll Association, our graduates are recognized clear across Canada.

Western College was formed in 1993 and has been educating the Bay St. George area for more than 19 years. We are registered under Newfoundland and Labrador Private Training Institutes Act, and are affiliated with Eastern College and The Canadian Payroll Association.
Western College has on on-site testing center, and has made
substantial investments in equipment so our students are trained on the most widely-used
computer hardware and software packages,as well as the latest office automation
equipment utilized in business, industry, and government today.
Career Services Department
The Career Services Department at Western College is available to provide individual employment counseling to current students and graduates, and to assist individuals in identifying their career goals and establishing gainful employment in their field of study.
Types of counseling offered:
To provide practical, intensive, job skills training for the career success of our students; to provide a professional learning environment that is both challenging and motivating.
